this totally kills me! although it is not surprising. In the recent economic downturn (also not-so-widely known as a full-blown recession), I have noticed a good deal of shops and boutiques (of the Madison Avenue and Soho variety) closing their doors. At the same time, I have noticed that the doggie dress boutiques and jewelry stores (yes, I said jewelry stores, like the one I passed on the UWS the other day) seem to be thriving. It is thoroughly depressing to see a dog dressed in a better quality, cuter coat than me. Oh! I need a drink!
